Knit scrubby cloth
Supplies
- US no. 6 knitting needles (4.25 mm diameter)
- Scrubby yarn (#4 medium weight)
- Small crochet hook, for working the ends in on the finished product
Directions
- Cast on two stitches
- k1, YO, k1
- k2, YO, k1
- k3, YO, k1
- k3, YO, knit to end of row
- … repeat until 35 stitches across (or desired diagonal width) …
- k2, k2tog, YO, k2tog, knit to end of row
- (at 6 stitches) - k2, k2tog, k2
- k1, k2tog, k2
- k1, k2tog, k1
- k1, k2tog
- k2tog
- tie off and work ends into the finished piece
Notes
- Use cotton yarn for face or bath use. Don’t use cotton for dirty dishes, as it won’t dry quickly and will hold odors. Cotton will soften with use.
- Use polyester yarn for dishes. It dries quickly, holds up to very heavy use, and won’t hold odors. It’s a bit too coarse for wanting to use on my face.
- I wash them with the regular towels without fabric softener (wax). During the week, it dries on a hook in the sink between scrubbing dishes.
